Buying a vehicle in Maryland should mean that you purchase something that is reliable and that won’t present with any issues within the first few months of having the vehicle. After you purchase a car, truck, or motorcycle and see that you’re going to have to spend more money getting it repaired than what you had planned to spend or than what should be necessary, then you might be covered under Maryland lemon law used car details.

Once you realize that there is an issue with the vehicle after making a purchase, you need to contact the dealer to make the business aware. You could be eligible for a refund of the money that you spent or another vehicle if the repairs that are made still result in issues with driving the vehicle. The vehicle needs to be registered in the state in order for you to be protected by Maryland lemon law used car features. It would also need to be purchased from the manufacturer or a dealer. The vehicle needs to have been driven less than 24 months or less than 18,000 miles in order to qualify as well.

Write a letter to the manufacturer or the dealer about the issue that you notice, sending it by certified mail so that there is a record of letting the proper person know about the defect that was detected. The dealer or manufacturer has 30 days to make the necessary repairs. After making a certain number of attempts to repair the vehicle and the defect still impacts the operation, safety, or value of the vehicle, then you have the option of getting your money back or getting another vehicle to drive.
